• My Uncle, the Rock Star

  It just so happens I have an uncle who just so happens to be a drummer for a little band called Air Supply. 
  I know, I know.  It's a little surreal, and I'm sure you won't believe me at first, but this is beside the point, and I digress. 
  Air Supply made their way down to Austin,TX this past weekend to put on a little show for their doting, adoring fans, with the help of the Austin Symphony Orchestra.  Fortunately for us, Jaime and I secured a couple of seats in the audience, and some backstage passes...
  I'm not going to lie- it was a little like Wayne and Garth backstsage at Alice Cooper's show. 
  

  We drove down on Saturday morning, and while someone had to go to his rehearsal, we stayed luxurious style in the hotel room.... suite... it was a suite with a jacuzzi and a personal assistant and one of those telephones next to the toilet in case... well for whatever. 
  Of course, none of this is true.  I am exaggerating.  BUT there was a television.  And we promptly kicked back to relax after our long drive south.

  

  Later on we met back up with Uncle Mike before the show. 

  

  We passed the time by taking pictures of ourselves.

  

  And then, showtime.

  

  later on Air Supply took us around the city in their stretch limo.  Matthew McConaughey joined us.
  (No.  I'm lying again.)

  We had to drive back home that night, so we didn't get to spend much time with Mike in all. 
  But, it was definately worth it.
