  • Guilty Pleasures: Miscellany and Other Things, Variously

I'm kind of into trying out new things these days.  Here's a list of some favorite current indulgences of mine...

     1. New Glasses.  The book-nerd in me lives on!

    2. Gummi Worms.  I have newly rediscovered this old favorite- both sour and original flavors.

    3.  Currently burning: Sandalwood, by local Denton candleshop Wik.

    4.  Chocolate Milk.  Mmmmm...

    5. I bought a Baby Sling for Jaime and her baby shower on April 5th.  Granted, this isn't for me per se, but I am beginning to indulge myself in the role of AUNT.   baby sling

    6. I finally got around to watching one of my all-time top favorite actor (Jason Schwartzman)'s  most recent movie, The Darjeeling Limited.  God, what amazing writing, what an incredible cast, what a beautiful setting.  Also, Adrien Brody struck me once again with his acting talent- (first time, The Pianist... an incredible film).  Even Owen Wilson surprised me with his performance.

(Above: Jason Schwartzman, in all his awkward glory.)

    7. Nick and I discovered jazz night at local yummy restaurant The Greenhouse on Monday nights (including dollar shiner!) from 10pm-midnight.  Almost too much fun for a Monday night....

    8.  Create-your-own-six-pack at World Market.  Try different beers, variously.

Well, there you have it.  A few new favorites.  What kinds of things are you going to try this week?

The last 3 just happened to me too... weird!  Darjeeling was pretty amazing, but I'm going to have to watch it a couple more times for there were several distractions at my first viewing.  Monday night jazz night is also the same night the German honor society meets for deutsch konversation and bier, which Sterling and I have tried on several occasions to go to but have made it only once.  And then one day we went roaming around World Market and found that 6 pack thingy as well.   I think maybe the Universe was steering the world, or perhaps just wordly inclined college girls from Mabank?  Who knows.

I am silly, and if you have any news or requests for help on that book-beer-club thingy I'd like to help.
